1. Learn from event fundraising experts.

First and foremost, this conference aims to provide a space for fundraising professionals to set aside 1-2 days to learn from industry insiders.

“The event fundraising field is constantly evolving. Donor demographics are changing and fundraisers need to think about new and innovative ways to engage and retain donors,” noted BidPal CEO Steve Johns in a press release.

Topics covered will include:

  • Data-driven fundraising
  • Storytelling using humor and emotion to electrify donors
  • Running efficient and profitable campaigns
  • Building cohesive procurement teams
  • Registration/checkout best practices
  • Event fundraising trends (featuring a full panel of event fundraising experts)
  • …and more!

2. Interact with engaging speakers

At RAISE 2017 – and here in the Winspire News commmunity – we’re all on the same team.

Conference attendees will be provided with a unique, dynamic opportunity to network with like-minded peers. Expand your circle of nonprofit contacts and exchange ideas, tips and referrals.

Breakfast and lunch are included with registration, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to mingle with others raising money in your geographic location and/or supporting similar causes.

4. Receive CFRE Credits

For those unfamiliar, CFRE is an independent global organization that oversees a certification process for fundraising professionals. Fundraisers are tested on knowledge in six areas – current and prospective donor research, securing gifts, relationship building, volunteer involvement, leadership and management, and ethics and accountability – to ensure fundraising pros maintain professionalism, competence and service in philanthropy.

Full participation in RAISE is applicable for 4 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

5. Talk with amazing sponsors – namely us!

That’s right, Winspire will be there!

As fellow event fundraisers, we are thrilled to participate in the inaugural RAISE conference. I personally invite all blog readers to come say hello, ask questions and brainstorm how no-risk travel packages can raise more money for your organization.

6. Explore D.C.

RAISE 2017 will be held at The Event Space at YFU in downtown Washington, DC.

The Event Space at YFU is centrally located in Downtown DC’s Shaw neighborhood. It’s a short walk, metro or taxi ride from many of the city’s monuments and museums, and can easily be accessed by Metro’s green and yellow line (at the Shaw-Howard University metro stop).
