Q2-Donation-Give-Away-Winner-WINGS

We are excited to announce the winner of the April 2015 Donation Give-Away drawing! Nikki Katrodia of Rolling Meadows, IL will be using the two framed and autographed classic MLB jerseys to help raise money for the WINGS Program organization, where she works as the Special Events Coordinator.

Donation-Give-Away-JERSEYS3WINGS was established in 1985 to provide integrated services and help combat domestic violence and homelessness one family at a time. Located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, WINGS is committed to helping abused and abandoned women and children overcome difficult life circumstances and accomplish goals that will lead to an enhanced quality of life.

The donated jerseys will be used as silent auction items at their 9th Annual Charity Gold Outing on Monday, July 20th at the beautiful Inverness Golf Club. The proceeds raised at the event will support the woman and children of WINGS. For more information about the Golf Outing, visit www.wingsprogram.com.

“I normally use Winspire travel packages at our Annual Purple Tie Ball that takes place in October. This event is well know for the auctions and especially the live auction,” says Nikki, “Our guests love the packages and we received nothing but positive comments from past winners. The packages are unique and you have a great variety. Something for everyone. I have worked with Amanda Miles and she has been very helpful each time. The Napa Valley packages seems to be most popular with our donors”… which just so happens to be the next Donation Give-Away!

Just last year, WINGS provided 203 women and 339 children with 63,415 nights of shelter through WINGS housing. It’s not unusual for WINGS to end up helping more children than women since most female residents arrive with more than one child.

WINGS-Metro-Building

Recognizing the urgent need for additional services and shelter beds in Chicago, WINGS, Greater Southwest Development Corporation and Metropolitan Family Services formed a collaborative to launch WINGS Metro, the first domestic violence shelter to be built in the city in over a decade. The state-of-the-art facility, set to open in the summer of 2015, will provide interim housing for 100 people per year, include 3 apartments for extended living and include retail space to help offset costs.

The collective support services provided by the three organizations will include not only immediate safe housing and case management, but also employment, financial and housing counseling, legal and therapeutic services, court advocacy, support groups, early childhood education and childcare, youth development and after school programs.

When asked about her biggest fundraising challenge, Nikki shared her difficulty with securing event sponsorships, “We have many loyal individuals and corporate donors who support a variety of our events year after year but securing new donors has been tough. To financially grow our events I really believe we need to increase our individual and corporate event sponsorships.”

spaceshipGenerate Sponsorships with Winspire Experiences

One of the best ways to offset many of the costs of hosting a large fundraising event is to secure individual or business sponsorships. Sponsors have the option to pay a set amount or underwrite a specific part of an event in return for recognition.
