Nonprofit Email Marketing: What's Working in 2017 [Infographic + eBook]

Winspire-email-infographic-header.pngWith daylight savings time, longer days and (slightly) warmer weather on the horizon, we are officially in the thick of spring fundraising season. You're likely sending a flurry of emails promoting ticket sales, new auction items, save the dates, you name it. And as we recently reported on Winspire News, promotion is the #1 challenge event planners face.

However, email isn't just for promoting one-time events - it's key to raising support year-round.

Email is a fast, low cost and low impact way to develop relationships with donors around the world. And unlike print invitations, email gives the opportunity to embed a concrete call-to-action (registering for an event, donating to a campaign, sharing on social media and more) right in the message.

When handled properly and strategically, email is the most powerful marketing tool at your disposal.

If you're wondering...

  • Is fundraising by email still effective?
  • How often should we send emails?
  • What are some solid onboarding strategies for new subscribers?
  • How can we reduce the number of unsubscribes, or "email churn"?

...and more, check out today's post for an infographic detailing the latest trends in nonprofit email marketing. Then, download the free eBook all about promoting fundraising events with strategic, timely email messages.

Nonprofit Email Marketing - What's Working in 2017 (infographic)

We hope the infographic gave you some concrete tips and insight into best practices for nonprofit email marketing today. It seems as long as you keep the content of each email interesting and original, supporters should be interested in hearing what you have to say.

Another critical strategy: Try segmenting your list by certain demographics. You might look at geographic location, how long they've supported your cause, particular interests and more.

With segmentation, each message can be tweaked and targeted to the audience - increasing the likelihood they will click on your call-to-action, versus 'unsubscribe'. (This method has been shown to increase conversion rates on emails by 65 percent!)
