Now available to all users is the 'Test Mode' feature for Experiences and Donation Pages. Test Mode allows users to test the full donor experience, from start to finish. This will help users identify any potential errors or glitches ahead of launch.
Test Transactions
In Test Mode, users can submit test transactions using auto-filled test card numbers on any of their draft experiences or donation pages. It is important to note that test mode and these auto-filled card numbers will not work on live experiences, so we highly recommend testing transactions prior to going live, to identify and address any revisions to be made to draft experiences ahead of launch. If a user has already set up and linked a Stripe account before using Test Mode on a draft experience, they will even be able to see see the test transactions in their Stripe account, allowing for a fully comprehensive picture of the transaction process.
Additional test features
Additionally, other features relating to the checkout process will be available in test mode, including exporting reports to preview data, importing Teams/Participants to crowdfunders and peer-to-peer fundraisers, adding physical raffle tickets and donations, and more. This allows Test Mode to enable users to fully test and evaluate their experience ahead of launch to get a feel for what their donors will experience.
Test mode is automatic
Users will not need to "enable" or "turn on" Test Mode as it is automatically built-in for any draft Experience or Donation Page. Test Mode will automatically show up as an option to users when building their experience and editing the draft of their experience. While in Test Mode, The Experience Page, Checkout, and Management backend will show users an on-screen banner to alert them that they're in Test Mode. No need to worry about deleting test transactions as well -- once a user hits "Publish" and goes live, all test mode transaction data is conveniently deleted so that users can get a fresh start with a clean slate as their donors' contributions and transactions begin.
